It has been four years since Sean Malto blessed us with a full part. The video, Pretty Sweet , was released just one year before Sean was sidelined by a grotesque ankle injury. You know how you can tell the true measure of a dude by the way he handles misfortune? Well, KC’s sunshine man bounced back with determination and zeal; he rehabbed his fallen foot and returned even better than before.
Where are you from and where do you live?
I'm from Kansas City. I ended up getting a place in LA a couple years ago but I still try to split time between both cities.
What music / bands are you into right now?
I've been listening to Run The Jewels a lot lately. Their third album is sick!
Who has been your biggest influence on your skateboarding?
Mikey Taylor has been a big influence for me with skateboarding. He took me under his wing when I was seventeen. He let me stay at his house, let me tag along his skate trips, and he has always helped me out whenever I needed advice. Thanks Mikey! As far as someone's skating goes, Eric Koston was and always will be the greatest of all time!
What was your first board and how did you get it? or First memory of skateboarding?
My first ever pro model board was a Trainwreck board. It was an all-black board with a pumpkin lit up as the graphic. I loved Zero at a young age and the shop owner at Escapist just suggested it to me. I somehow still have it at my mom’s house in Kansas!

Whats your favorite thing / place to eat?
Being from KC I love BBQ. Top two places: 1) Arthur Bryant's (Obama's spots when he comes to town)
2) Joe’s KC (used to be called Oklahoma Joe’s). It's on Bourdain's “13 Places To Eat Before You Die.”
Name top 3 movies?
Goodfellas ; The Big Lebowski ; and Tommy Boy .
What’s your favorite video part?
Eric Koston, Yeah Right! .
What's your favorite trick and who do you think does a perfect version of that trick?
It always changes but at the moment I've been enjoying switch flips. Stefan Janoski has the best one!
If you could hang out with anybody, living or dead, who would it be?
Chris Farley. I thought he was so funny! I loved his movies.

What would be your idea of ultimate happiness?
That’s a loaded question but I feel like I need to go with something along the lines of health. I just want all my friends and family to be in perfect health for the rest of their lives.
Are Pro skaters role models?
I think so. Regardless of whether they want to be or not, I think Pro skaters have a big influence on the skateboarding community.
What's your favorite quality in a person?
Do you think that skaters should represent skateboarding at all times?
Some skaters should represent skateboarding… and some should NOT!
