Skateboarders unite! The Vancouver Plaza, the first skate plaza of its kind in the world, is living on borrowed time. A recent decision by the city of Vancouver to tear down the viaducts under which this legendary skateboard mecca sits has signaled it’s eventual demise, and securing a legitimate replacement is unfortunately not guaranteed.
Not to be deterred by this horrible news, Vancouver locals have voiced their concern with the city that the Plaza’s legacy and cultural significance must be honored, and in response the city has drafted a survey to help determine the fate of this important landmark. Please take a moment to click the link and fill out the survey, and rest assured knowing you have contributed to a noble cause. After you fill out the survey, sit back and watch this entertaining edit filmed at the Plaza for Color Magazine’s 12 hour film festival in 2012.
