The Toral Urbe Open Skateboard (Oi STU Open), the largest street contest in Latin America, went down this weekend. The skaters competed in Duo Square on Barra da Tijuca, between the 25th and the 30th, in front of a crowded arena. 224 Skateboarders in the Men's and Women's Open Category competed for a total prize of Four Hundred Thousand Reais (roughly $126,473), the largest ever offered in a street contest in Latin America.
In the Women's Open, Pâmela Rosa came in first and Gabriela Mazetto nabbed second. The Austrian Julia Bruckler took third place.
In the Men's, Japan's Yuto Horigome used the entire course and secured the title, followed by New Zealand Am, Lucas Alves from Brazil.

The iO STU OPEN is sanctioned by the International Skateboarding Federation (ISF), World Cup Skateboarding (WCS), Brazilian Skate Confederation (CBSk) and by the State of Rio de Janeiro Skateboard Federation (FASERJ), and valid as a stage for the World Cup Skateboarding (WCS)'s Ranking. iO STU OPEN is also valid as scoring on the Professional Street Ranking's Brazilian Skate Confederation (CBSk) and by the State of Rio de Janeiro Skateboard Federation (FASERJ).
