Winter Comes Ripping
I work at a skatepark and thus, Minnesota winters are made a little bit easier to endure. One thing that I tend to forget about is the beautiful bowl, pictured above, which most of the time, aside from old dude night, sits mostly empty. Last night I got a workout that I can only attribute to hella bowl skating, and I even managed a new trick. Park bound skaters, don't forget about the tranny. Deep end stand-up frontside grinds by 2007, something I said in '05, and '04, but this time I'll do it. For Wisconsinites, and anybody else in the Great Lakes region, don't forget about Cream City in Milwaukee, possibly the raddest indoor park ever. The Twincities pilgrimage commences the first weekend of December, don't forget about $11.00 30 packs of PBR, and stay away from the steps the first night of the trip. I've regretted it everytime.
Skateboarders seem to be avid media critics, that's at least what I've gleamed from myself and the older guys that I associate with. For a more politically and nationally sighted criticism, head towards On The Media. Conservatism is not one to criticize, so ignore the liberal stance, it's inherent. All they ask is that you listen and think.
I outed myself with the last paragraph; I love NPR. I've even given them my hard earned money, though I don't own any coffee mugs, I opt for the book.
The Flick for the new Toy Machine video, "Suffer The Joy", is submitted, and I must say, make use of every opportunity to see it. I attempted to link the premiere without using just a link to the flyer, and here's what I got. If you live in the Long Beach area, call them, or just find it on the Toy Machine site, which maybe you already did. Suffer for it kid...
