So, Kanye's past the point in his life where he thinks he's the shit and acts like a douchebag to everybody becasue he suggested that his 'inner demon' kill himself... Is that the message in this?

Hell yeah it's his inner demon, who else's fault could it be that acts like a jerk, his own? Blame it on the dee-d-d-d-d-d-demon

This isn't an 'entertainment' short film on the level of a music video, and it shouldn't be judged as such. This deals with a deeply important, human theme of loss of self-control and the dangers of excess vanity, vice, etc. I really respect Spike Jonze for taking on an issue that is SO CENTRAL to humanity, especially now in our culture.

i like kanye okay, i think its stupid how everyone was so upset for taylor swift, she will survive shes a beautiful young wealthy white gal. and who really takes MTV awards seriously? its as bad as it gets. go spike, ...go everybody

    agree... to an extent.
just when you use someone with poor acting abilities...
    it doesnt show.
    so central to humanity...
    SO CENTRAL to hollywood life...
    not so much to humanity.

its a topic thats been expressed in many other films...
and doesnt need to be adressed by kanye west

The effects of excessive pride are not isolated to Hollywood life. Kanye West is a public, recognizable person with a notorious personal life that people seem to know very well, making it easy to see him as a example of vanity and dissipation. But to stop there and point to Hollywood and entertainment culture as the home of these problems is not doing the short film justice. Can you not think of people who at times act similarly to how Kanye acts in the night club? I can identify with Kanye's position and I live thousands of miles away from Hollywood.
