in a way they are already gone. many of the employees and management are jaded towards skating, and if you don't fit in with their clicks then its like your invisible. Even cowtowns got like no business here in phoenix now

Yo, I am a buyer and Team Manager for the skateshop in my town, called Killer Peaks Surf & Skate, and if my shop closed the thing i would miss most is my job. Shit is so fun. I get to be around skateboards all day and hang out with my friends and all the local kids that come in the shop. Ain't nothing better than a local skateshop!!!!

    Check us out at Killerpeaks.com!

Whose fault is it? the younger kids are jaded and shop @ zumiez and other mall shops that dont know the first thing about a skateboard. I support my local shop NJ they are fairly priced and you can catch them @ the skatepark on the regular. I would be bummed if they werent around.

I would not miss anything because the skateshops that are available to me are bullshit. The prices are too high, the people that work there are posers, and the product sucks. I have to order my skate stuff just to catch a break on the price. So many of these so called skateshops cater to kids that have no idea what skating is really all about. Much props to the few skateshops that actually support their skater population. Fuck the shops that sell skateboards along with snowboards, wakeboards, and anything else that makes money. They might as well just sell hardware and bearings because thats all I will ever cop from their piece of shit store, and that is only if I am in a bind.

It is sad to see all these shops close down. However, we are in the middle of economic hardship. Skateboarding will never cease. Let things die naturally and new shops will open once the smoke clears.

What would I miss most? The competent shop owner.

The man with the plan. The dealer of all things skate. The guy who can NEVER seem to get off the phone. The one that knows if he (guess it could be she) doesn't get keep it going no one else will. Stay true Mr. Competent Shop owner! We've got your back, and you've got our wallets.
