There's gonna be a new Skatepark in town

Brian Moore and Kanten Russell from SITE Design stopped by to confer with Swift(the most handsome one in the middle)on the plans for the new Carmel Valley(Del Mar) skatepark. A cool Clover pool, a ditch with a gap and a variety of street obstacles are some of the key features. As usual to San Diego style, the park is not free to skate, LAME! Do San Diegans know how far they lag behind the rest of the nation in park circles? This isn't Golf!

Yeah, Grant! That last line is on point! It seems like every damn community has basketball and tennis courts too. Are they free? Yes. Are they ever used? Rarely.
And then there's crowded skate parks you need to pay for. How about no, suckers!

Come on are you serious? you make it sound like its soooo hard to skate in san diego! Try living on the east coast where skateparks are few or far between. I have to drive half an hour to pay at a shitty indoor ramp park, and im pretty lucky. Talk about lagging behind. At least you have fun parks and can skate year round.

Will,
You're right, I shoulda said, "San Diego compared to NorCal, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado and a few other states". The East Coast does have it bad, my East Coast friends that live out here now told me.

Three new parks ring the east side of DC, Bowie, Greenbelt, and Olney, all public and dirt cheap or free, all with pretty good pools, plus the skater built Greenskate Lab bowl, and the indoor fightclub bowl. Come skate em!

Hey, being a native from Arizona, I can say first hand that we could always use more and more free parks. Granted, we do have it better than such states as Mass., but there's no such thing as too few skate parks.
