I was on the Mind Field tour for a few days last August and shot this video with a pocket digi camera I'd just bought. It's an awesome little device that shoots both stills and HD (kind of a lo-fi HD). I never had any intentions for the footage- all of the good stuff (especially skating) was shot with bigger cameras and is currently being edited for the Workshop site. Also keep a lookout for full article in an upcoming issue of the Mag.
A regular companion on this summer's skate missions, Arto's pup Banger recently broke a leg while trying to jump a gap that was a bit beyond his abilities. It comes as no surprise that this young Saari knows no fear, but he's healed up and doing fine now (for those concerned).
While cleaning the office I recently found a box of polaroids (RIP) that I thought were long gone.
All shot during the summer of 2004, I believe. Click below to see them all.
While out east on a filming trip, I was luckily able to help Duane Pitre with a visual piece for a live show he preformed in Brooklyn. If you've seen Mind Field then you know Duane's music- it was used throughout the video (including Heath's ender), as well as for the DVD menu itself. His show was a two song 30-minute solo set with visuals projected onto four walls above. To learn more about Duane's music you can visit his site, or to have a listen you can visit his myspace. For those of you who don't know, Duane is also an original rider for the Alien Workshop.
Radiohead is recording a new album and they just posted a free song their site. It's an mp3 download that comes with a PDF of artwork that you can put on your walls if you wish. I can't say enough good things about these guys and their music. Love 'em or not it's a free song so check it out.
