Omar Salazar SMS

I get daily videos from Omar via SMS. I never know what to expect and they are always rad. Here's the most recent.

Dill in Animal Collective video

Dill and his former beard have a cameo in the new video for "In The Flowers" from Animal Collective. You'll probably recognize the song as it's what Jason skated to in Mind Field. You can watch the video, as well as browse thru other Animal Collective music & videos, here.

Halloween

Yes, it was that time of year again. One of my favorite holidays- always good for running into friends no matter what kind of random house party you might find yourself in...
Alva Possee member circa 1987 with Dark D.A blackhead or a Nihilist, I'm not sure with American Idol's Adam Lambert.A short, friendly scuffle ensued as always."Stocking face guy" also made a brief appearance.

Found Note

Found this in an old box of papers. A note from Heath while filming for Mind Field.

Prints For Sale

This summer, Atlas in San Mateo, CA hosted a show titled "Three Years in the Field", a photo retrospective of the making of Mind Field. Atlas is a skate-only shop that went all out for the show by making custom shirts, boards in collaboration with AWS, and photographic prints- each a one-of-a-kind 16x20 silver gelatin print. All are hand framed and now for sale. Proceeds go to Atlas so they can have more shows like this in the future. Click on the image for full gallery. Contact Atlas for prices and details.

Archive: Heath Kirchart

Shot in the desert while filming Heath's intro for Sight Unseen in 2001. I can't remember if I shot this or if it was Heath's friend Bob (yes that Bob). Both of us were using my camera that morning.

Pocket Camera: Mind Field tour

I was on the Mind Field tour for a few days last August and shot this video with a pocket digi camera I'd just bought. It's an awesome little device that shoots both stills and HD (kind of a lo-fi HD). I never had any intentions for the footage- all of the good stuff (especially skating) was shot with bigger cameras and is currently being edited for the Workshop site. Also keep a lookout for full article in an upcoming issue of the Mag.
