Did the whole ASR thing last week. Best thing for me was all the fine grub I macked on with the homies. Worst thing: no skating for three days! It was good to see Kien Lieu in the ollie contest. Damn, I wish he coulda won for old times sake.

Just got back from the Black Box open house and I have to say it was the best ever. From Industry booths from Black Box (Zero, Mystery, Slave, Fallen), Given Skateboards, Brixton, Black Label, Deathwish, The Skateboard Mag, SkateBook TV and others, free BBQ, skating for days and interaction with the bros to Dunking The Chief (Jamie Thomas) to raise money for Make A Wish. A good time for all I believe was had. 100 times classier than the bro-fest about to go down this weekend.

This kid down there in Texas named Johnny Romano has been fighting a battle with leukemia for a few years now. The good people at Rebate are holding a benefit contest/pro demo on September 27, 2008 at the Galveston Skatepark. Get on down there and show your support if you can. Or go to www.johnnykickscancer.com and give whatever you can.

Information giver Raymond Molinar dropped me a line to let me know there are some old Alien Workshop and Habitat commercials that Joe Castrucci edited years up on YouTube. If your down click on through.

Was cruising to the Apple Store to return a faulty Ipod and realized I was gonna be a half hour early for the appointment. I was near the construction site of the Carmel Valley skatepark so I figured what better way to utilize the free time. After I parked the car i noticed Site Design's own Kanten Russell down in the bowl. He saw me and invited me in for a peak. The next thing I know, the legendary Chris Miller cruises up for a "tranny check" and the rest will be history. Believe me, if you want your park to turn out good you better make sure you get down there and check it out every chance you get. Otherwise you'll get what we oldtimers refer to as a "kink sink!" Carmel is looking good so far.

Kanten Russell and Chris Miller at the Carmel Valley Skatepark

Kanten drew this bitch up!

With Miller's insight of course!

A random Fed Ex arrived the other day in an odd shaped box. I was so excited I ripped it open in seconds only to find a sweet Epiphone electric guitar with the ProTec Pool Party 2008 logo—so sick! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for sending it and maybe I'll finally learn how to play guitar. Uh, doubt it!

I don't know many people without tattoos, especially in the skate world. Recently on a skate mission with Omar Hassan I noticed a little ink poking out from under his sleeve and immediately asked to see what the hell it was. Omar was probably the last person I thought would get a tattoo but lo and behold there it was—an Indy logo. Too funny.
I am me. Not you. Skate the world.
