August weekends in New York can literally mean a 8.25 million things to 8.25 million people, but for tens of thousands of skaters gathered in the area, last weekend meant brand-new shoes and attending what some have dubbed the finale of the world’s newest professional sports season.

But everyone knows that an NYC weekend should always start with a big huff from one of Gotham’s sewer-gas bongs. It’s, like, totally traditional.

And after you’re all good and gassy, you should try to go to an art opening or a shoe release party. But if you can’t find one of those, you could always go to a shoe release party that’s also an art opening.
