Through some third party word of mouth I found out the infamously anonymous J. Strickland was having an art show down the street from my house. J. Strickland is high on my list of people worth being a fan of. So not even knowing what he looks like I decided this was the perfect chance to meet the contributor of some of the rawest content ever in skateboarding. From Birdhouse to Baker to Bootleg to whatever gypsy tip he is on now, J. Strickland is always doing his own thing. Here are a few photos of the night.
Video art mash up type thing was interesting.
Proper skate photos for sale. Very saturated and rad pairing.
“The Price of Poison”.
Stencils on stained veneers.
Critics discussing substance and meaning.
Outside refreshments were being passed around.
No ski mask necessary I guess. Photo: Patrick Beaudouin
