The custom of wall writing has occurred worldwide and continues to the present, though advances in the technology of paint have made it more of an opportunity both for art and for defacement on a grand scale.
Everybody needs something to toss up. Whether it’s your gang sign, your trademark, your alias, or simply something to kill time, you should always have a “go to” marking. These come in all different forms, here are a few that I’ve come across. A good example is seen below, where traces of Gareth Stehr (aka Dirt Squid) & Lizard King’s hieroglyphic trademark are territorially placed on a telephone pole in front of Don the Nuge’s house.
Skate house fridges are a good place to practice and get your name out there.

Otherwise, just grab the nearest sharpie.
if you are a renter, you might want to consider just going with a duck taped symbol on your house.
Respect the pre-existing murals though.

Don’t let the other symbols overpower your chance to prove to future people that you were there first.
While you are at it, i would reccomend trying to place it directly on the spot. It might make it on a magazine cover, or at the very least, a video.
